Approach & About

Therapy is a process of intentional, supported transformation. As your therapist I will help you to foster self-compassion, expand your ability to observe and accept yourself and your circumstances as they truly are, while simultaneously building momentum and identifying and implementing skills to create valued change. I truly believe that our personal healing work reverberates, and benefits the world around us. My approach is empathic, authentic, and honoring of your resilience and inner healing abilities.

The relationship between therapist and client can be a secure base from which to explore old wounds, stuck places, and aspects of ourselves and our situations that we’ve been avoiding, with the ultimate goal of understanding ourselves better, living in greater alignment with our deepest values, and contributing to the collective in more satisfying and meaningful ways. Sometimes therapy feels nurturing and affirming, and sometimes it feels like hard work! My goal is to meet whatever you are bringing to therapy with compassion and attuned attention.

I utilize an eclectic approach which draws from attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, relational neuroscience, and archetypal work. I am a believer in the benefits of mindfulness, creativity, and movement as they support your therapeutic goals, and you can expect me to promote a variety of such practices during our work together.

I have experience working with youth and adults in a variety of care settings, including interpersonal violence advocacy, community mental health, crisis line work, and psychiatric emergency department. I have experience in working with folks who experience depression, including treatment-resistant depression, complex and relational trauma, chronic suicidality and self-harm. I have specialized training and experience in working with those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, interpersonal violence and sexual assault. I have extensive experience and also love working with LGBTQIA youth and young adults.

I also have experience providing adjunctive therapy to individuals receiving ketamine treatment for refractory depression, as well as experience providing preparatory and integration support for those doing their own, independent psychedelic exploration. I have completed trainings at Lewis and Clark College in Entheogen Assisted Therapy, as well as Ketamine Assisted Therapy through the Polaris Insight Center, and am continually building my knowledge base around the history, potential benefits and risks of utilization of this medicine.

I approach therapy from a feminist, anti-oppressive framework, which for me means that I view our work together as impacted by and acting upon history, culture, and identity, with a goal of uplifting strategies of survival and resistance and dismantling systems of oppression, including those of silencing and shame. I am excited to dialogue with you about identity, intersectionality, and power dynamics and structures, and am committed to the process of accountability and repair around my own privilege, words, and actions.
