Approach & About
I ultimately believe change stems from awareness. My therapeutic approach is one that looks to deepen our understanding of your situation within a safe and nonjudgmental environment, as I fundamentally believe we are doing the best we can with the tools we have been given.
I consider myself a pragmatist with respect to offering an eclectic approach that remains grounded within the challenges you are experiencing and the change you seek, furthermore providing a space to instill hope and explore creative solutions that harness our essential strengths.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Provisionally Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P) within the state of Oregon, I believe I am uniquely poised to meet my clients wherever they may be, particularly for youth in earlier stages of development as well as others who may struggle with more conventional modes of therapy; to that end, you do not have to be an artist in order to benefit from Art Therapy, but rather look at it as a tool to enhance the therapeutic process.
As a Third Culture Kid (TCK) now adult, which describes an individual raised outside their culture of origin, with exposure taking place over the course of significant developmental periods, I bring a unique background and perspective that has afforded me the ability to work with a diverse clientele, and have had the privilege of providing therapy to individuals and families in a variety of settings at various stages of treatment.
At the end of the day I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process through which to deepen our understanding and become more aware of our experience from one moment to the next, such as it supports your sustained growth beyond our work together.
