Approach & About

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), specializing in psychiatric medication management. While I have experience treating children and adolescents, at this time I am focusing my practice on adults age 18-64.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Willamette University and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing from OHSU. I am licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington (please note my DEA license is limited to Oregon; controlled substances cannot be sent outside of Oregon). I strive to be a culturally competent and LGBTQIA+ affirming provider.

I see psychiatric medications as an added tool to aid in overall well-being, and enjoy working with clients on how to maximize wellness with the least amount of medication needed. I consider nonpharmacologic modalities whenever possible, which often involves lifestyle and behavioral changes as well as care coordination with your medical and/or counseling team. I enjoy educating my clients to ensure the treatment process is well-informed and collaborative. While psychiatric medications can be a helpful tool, medications alone are often not sufficient in achieving optimal symptom relief and recovery. My focus and specialty is medication management, providing only brief supportive therapy as needed. While I do not necessarily require clients to have a therapist, I may recommend, or in some situations require, separate counseling services if indicated.

Note: It may be helpful to note that generally in my practice, I rarely use benzodiazepines. I am happy to help clients taper off of regular use if that is a goal, but I am not a good fit for those who need regular benzodiazepines as part of their long-term plan.
